17 December 2021 • Lauren Harding, senior marketing officer

Just like many libraries around the world, University of Johannesburg library struggled with providing their patrons with remote access to their library e-resources resources throughout the prevailing months of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. This is until they decided to move to federated access by implementing OpenAthens to improve patrons’ access experience.

Janina Van der Westhuizen, Head of Technical Services and her colleagues at University of Johannesburg share their patron access change management best practices and what the results have been so far. The session was moderated by Kelechi Okere, Global Director, Seamless Access at Elsevier and James Edwards, International Sales Manager at OpenAthens.
