SPIE Digital Library leverages OpenAthens authentication for optics and photonics research

We’re pleased to announce that SPIE, the not-for-profit international society for optics and photonics, will enable institutional authentication for all its digital library partner platforms using our industry-leading single sign-on software.

SPIE’s platforms include its own SPIE Digital Library which offers the world’s largest collection of applied optics and photonics research. With more than 500,000 papers spanning biomedicine, communications, sensors, defense and security, manufacturing, electronics, energy, and imaging, the SPIE Digital Library is the most extensive research database available on optics and photonics research. Engineers and scientists in academic, corporate, and government laboratories depend on this resource for the critical knowledge they need to stay current and competitive.

With our organisation discovery service Wayfinder and active support of NISO’s RA21 recommended practices – facilitating seamless user experience in accessing online resources – our partnership with SPIE ensures that users of SPIE’s digital library platforms will get easy access to the specialist research they need.
